The second exhibition room is dedicated to the Great Emigration, focusing on the fate of emigrants forced to leave their homeland after the defeat of the November Uprising. The central element is a table-cabinet display showcasing copies of documents related to meetings of key representatives of the Great Emigration, including the later founders of the order.
The display cabinets feature memorabilia related to figures such as Adam Mickiewicz, Cyprian Kamil Norwid, and Ludwik Plater (mainly copies of letters and documents, with originals stored in the monastery archive), as well as sculptures by Oskar Sosnowski and mementoes related to the conversion and death of Fryderyk Chopin. The exhibition features cubes with sculptural busts. Since original documents cannot be exposed to UV radiation, copies of manuscripts are on display to give an idea of the richness of the archive. Additionally, the hall includes a library cabinet to complement the presentation’s atmosphere.
